Sun Rooms

  OAK AND GLASS - CULLOMPTON

Here was a 1930's house in a beautiful situation with a south facing garden that was begging for a sunny light living area that integrated the house and the garden.

BEFORE.

The existing conservatory was too small and not really useable all the year round. We designed this room to be the primary living area for all reasons and seasons.

Extraordinarily high insulation coupled with our unique imported super efficient German manufactured windows and French doors have worked out superbly.

These windows are the European styled inward opening tilt and turn style.  The clients were so impressed with the windows that they installed matching replacement units in the upstairs bedrooms. These windows are the matching inward opening tilt and turn style.

AFTER.

Builders were a joint effort between Takle Construction Ltd and our own team.

Completed January 2006, Landscaping ongoing

ROUNDED BREAKFAST ROOM TO VICTORIAN RECTORY - NR WELLINGTON

Everything is relative. Strange as it may seem this beautiful large Victorian rectory did not have the family living and eating area that modern living expects and enjoys.

BEFORE.

Our client wanted a large family space off the kitchen that made the most of the spectacular view and flowed out onto the terrace. The challenge here was not to interfere with the windows at first floor level.

The solution was to use a flat roof over the new area hidden behind a parapet wall. Extending out beyond the kitchen could have caused the existing kitchen to become dark.

The solution is a huge Victorian styled lantern light placed close to where the old and the new sections meet.

AFTER.

Completed spring 2006.

  RELAXING COTTAGE SUN ROOM

This sun porch attached to two old cottages that was originally half of what it is now, was built on the site of an old cast iron shed.

The owners spend most of their time in this lovely light area and it provides the perfect link from an otherwise traditional cottage to the garden.

I think this is a particularly tasteful room and adore the period colours green and white that are used to such great affect on the windows.

Completed 2003
